Staying at the Ashram
Please e-mail or phone the ashram a week or so before arriving with your arrival details - name, date, time and flight number. During busy times not all room types may be available, so it is strongly advised to book in advance. Once we receive your flight details we consider your reservation as confirmed, but please confirm your visit around a week before arriving. We can arrange for an airport transfer for a fee of around £30/€33/AUD45 one way.
A minimum stay of five days is mandatory for new students.

Children Coming to the Ashram
There is no charge for children up to the age of six. Children aged seven to twelve pay half price.
Currency
The currency of Bali is the Indonesian Rupia.
The ashram does not accept cheques or credit cards. It is best to pay for your stay in hard currency or via bank transfer in advance of your stay. For personal expenditure you can change money at favourable rates in town (the money changers at the airport offer the least favourable rates). .
The ashram also offers a money changing service. There are plenty of ATMs in Bali, although the nearest one to the ashram is over 1 hour away and many of them allow you to withdraw small amounts of cash only in one transaction. You can also cash US$ travelers cheques at some money changers and some banks, but the rate you receive is less than for cash.

Transfer from/to the airport
The ashram is around 2 hours travel from Denpasar airport. On arrival at the airport someone from the ashram will meet you at arrivals, with a card displaying Ratu Bagus Ashram. The airport transfer is £30/€33/AUD45 one way. This can be shared if there are several people in your party.
On leaving Bali an airport tax of 150,000 Rp (£9/€12/$15) is payable as you leave through departures.
Facilities at the Ashram
- Deep tissue massages are available
- There is an Ashram shop selling
incense, sarongs, wood carvings etc. - Occasionally there are trips to local beaches and
arts and crafts markets - Internet and phone access
- Landry facilities
Mostly all mobile phones work at the ashram, although it is dependent on which network as to how good the reception is.
The ashram is located in a remote spot, there's a local supermarket a few miles away, but westernised products can only really be bought from the bigger supermarkets located in the tourist areas, the nearest of which is around 1-2 hours away.
Useful Items to Bring
- for the shaking sessions you need plenty of light clothes
- flip flops/sandals or similar sports bra can be useful for the women.
- the ashram is located quite high above sea level so tends to be a bit cooler than the reliably hot and humid beach areas. A couple of warm jumpers for the evening can be useful.
- a torch
- a two-pin continental type plug adaptor if necessary
- an umbrella
- mosquito repellent if you wish
- sun cream, a towel and toiletries.
Bring sport shoes, a backpack and a hat if you want to climb Mt. Agung.
Food at the Ashram
Food at the ashram is something people enjoy very much – it is wholesome and delicious, prepared with positive loving energy. Much laughter and happiness emanates from the kitchen!
There are 3 meals a day taken after each training session with enough to satisfy the most hungry amongst us - plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables with both meat and vegetarian options. Meals are included in the daily room rate.
For those concerned about allergies, the broad range of food on offer caters for any needs. People feel really good on the diet at the ashram.
The restaurant is in a beautiful location with a view of the treetops and Mount Agung. Meal times are also a great opportunity to relax and share with others and meet people from the many countries that go there. But if you want to be alone this is respected too.
Sometimes people choose to fast, and find the energy supports this in surprising ways.
Visa Requirements
Staying Less than 30 days
Citizens of most countries (please check) can get a tourist visa, valid for 30 days, on arrival at the airport for a cost of around £15/€25.
Staying over 30 days
If you wish to stay longer than 30 days you will need to apply for a Cultural Visa in
your country of residence before arrival in Bali. This can be obtained from the Indonesian Embassy and you will need a sponsor letter to go with your visa application. This sponsorship letter can be obtained by liaising with the country coordinators listed under each country in the groups section. The cultural visa has to be renewed each month after the initial validity period (usualy 60 days, to a maximum of six months and costs approx 50 euro per month.
